KEVIN SIMMONDS FROM GRANTHAM SENTENCED FOR VIEWING CHILD INDECENT IMAGES

Kevin Simmonds, a 42-year-old resident of Grantham, has been handed a significant sentence after being found guilty of possessing a large collection of indecent images of children.

The court heard that Simmonds was found with over 4,000 images stored on his electronic devices, which ranged across various categories from Category A to Category C, indicating the severity and explicit nature of the material.

The investigation revealed that Simmonds had also viewed videos depicting young girls being tied up, a detail that contributed to the seriousness of his offending.

The court was informed of the disturbing content he had accessed, which included both images and videos involving minors in compromising and abusive situations.

In addition to the prison sentence, Simmonds was ordered to remain on the sex offenders register for a period of ten years.

Furthermore, he was subjected to a ten-year sexual harm prevention order, which aims to restrict his access to certain online content and prevent any further offending behavior.

When passing sentence, the court took into account Simmonds' previous guilty plea, which was submitted prior to the trial.

The judge sentenced him to six months in prison, but this sentence was suspended for 18 months, meaning he will not serve time unless he commits another offence within that period.
