KEVIN MORRISON'S BRUTAL DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IN BANFF REVEALED IN COURT

Kevin Morrison, who is also known by the alias Pringle, has admitted to a disturbing pattern of domestic violence that spanned several years and involved both threats and physical assaults. The court proceedings shed light on Morrison’s troubling behavior, which has caused significant concern for his former partner and their family.

Currently residing on Academy Drive in Banff, Morrison was initially scheduled to stand trial for these allegations. However, at the last minute, he chose to plead guilty before the sheriff, effectively accepting responsibility for his actions. During the court hearing, Morrison appeared under his former name, Kevin Pringle, and the court was presented with detailed accounts of his abusive conduct.

One of the incidents involved Morrison punching a hole in a bedroom door, an act that demonstrated his violent tendencies. Additionally, he was found responsible for threatening his former partner with statements such as, “I will put you six foot under,” a clear indication of the intimidation and danger he posed. The court documents revealed that Morrison’s abusive behavior began in 2018 and persisted until April 2024, a period during which he and his partner had a child together.

Throughout their relationship, Morrison engaged in numerous episodes of verbal abuse and physical violence. A particularly troubling event took place in December 2021, following an argument in Aberdeen. During this incident, Morrison became enraged and physically restrained his partner, with her mother witnessing the shouting and swearing that accompanied the altercation. The court also detailed an incident on June 3, 2024, shortly after the couple had separated. During an attempt to take their daughter away, Morrison punched a door and slammed it into his ex-partner’s arm. Following this, he made a threatening phone call in which he told her, “I will put you six feet under the ground,” prompting her to contact police for her safety.

In his defense, Morrison’s legal representatives argued that his aggressive behavior was influenced by the recent introduction of a new partner into his life. They also pointed out that Morrison had been complying with bail conditions that restricted his contact with his ex-partner, allowing only for supervised visits with their child. Despite these arguments, the court emphasized the seriousness of domestic violence cases and ordered background reports to be prepared before sentencing. Morrison is expected to return to court at the end of the month for further proceedings.

Sheriff Mackie highlighted the prolonged nature of Morrison’s abusive conduct, emphasizing the importance of understanding the underlying issues involved in such cases. The court also considered issuing non-harassment orders to protect Morrison’s ex-partner and her family before concluding the proceedings, underscoring the ongoing concern for their safety and well-being.
