KEVIN MANSON SENTENCED IN LERWICK FOR OFFENSE INVOLVING CHILD PORNOGRAPHY
Kevin Manson, aged 36 and residing on Sandveien, previously admitted to possessing illegal images at his residence on Robertson Crescent in Lerwick between June 11 and October 30, 2020.
During court proceedings, it was revealed that an examination of a mobile phone and a memory card recovered four category C images, which are considered at the lower level of severity.
The images depicted children aged between eight and thirteen.
Defense attorney Martin Morrow informed Lerwick Sheriff Court on Wednesday that a social work report prepared for sentencing was highly positive and described Manson as a low-risk individual.
He added that his client was eager to give back to the community.
Sheriff Ian Cruickshank sentenced Manson to 100 hours of unpaid work to be completed alongside six months of supervision, as an alternative to imprisonment.
Additionally, Manson was placed on the sex offenders register for six months, and the court granted a crown application to seize his phone.
