SHETLAND MAN TO STAND TRIAL FOR ALLEGED ABUSE OF THREE WOMEN
A Shetland man is to stand trial next year charged with sexual, physical and verbal abuse against three women.
Harry Pitt is alleged to have committed the offences in Shetland between 2014 and 2023.
The 30 year old is said to have repeatedly behaved in a threatening manner to a woman, which included shouting and swearing at her as well as slamming doors.
Pitt then faces a number of rape charges in connection with the second alleged victim.
Prosecutors also claim Pitt engaged in a course of abusive behaviour towards her.
In addition, he is charged with raping a third woman, behaving aggressively towards her and isolating her from family and friends.
The case called today at the High Court in Glasgow, where Pitt tendered pleas of not guilty to all of the charges.
A trial is scheduled to begin in January 2027 at the High Court in Edinburgh, and could last for six days.
