KEVIN KOMBI SENTENCED IN BASILDON FOR ONLINE HARASSMENT AND SEXUAL RISK ORDER BREACHES
Kevin Kombi, a 29-year-old man from Essex, has been sentenced to a significant prison term following his repeated violations of a Sexual Risk Order (SRO) and his online misconduct involving women in the Basildon area.The sentencing took place at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Friday, March 31, where Kombi received a custodial sentence of four years and five months.
This case underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat predatory behavior and protect vulnerable individuals from online harassment and manipulation.
Throughout the proceedings, it was revealed that Kombi had engaged in a pattern of manipulative and deceitful conduct directed at two women.
He falsely claimed that either he or someone else had engaged in sexual activity with them, with the apparent intent of arranging in-person meetings.
Such actions not only violated the terms of his existing Sexual Risk Order but also demonstrated a disturbing level of predatory intent.
Kombi’s actions were characterized by authorities as highly manipulative and indicative of a predatory nature, raising serious concerns about his influence over the women involved.
In addition to his prison sentence, Kombi will be placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register indefinitely, a measure designed to monitor and restrict his activities to prevent further harm.
Furthermore, a Sexual Harm Prevention Order has been imposed for a period of 20 years, explicitly prohibiting him from engaging in any conduct that could cause harm to women.
These legal measures reflect the seriousness with which the justice system views his breaches and the potential risk he poses to the community.
Kombi admitted to three breaches of the Sexual Risk Order, which had been initially issued by Essex Police in July 2019.
The order was put in place after he sent numerous messages to a woman, implying that he had engaged in sexual acts with her and that he had watched others do so without her consent.
These actions constituted clear violations of the restrictions placed upon him.
The first breach occurred on July 29, 2021, when Kombi contacted a woman and falsely claimed to have witnessed her engaging in sexual activity with another individual.
He used this fabricated information to manipulate her into meeting him, an act that directly contravened the terms of his Sexual Risk Order.
He committed two additional breaches in October and November 2022, during which he failed to notify police within the required timeframe after acquiring a new mobile phone and did not make his phone available to officers during his arrest on November 14, 2022.
These failures to cooperate with law enforcement led to further charges and ultimately his sentencing.
Detective Constable Emma Price commented on the case, emphasizing the importance of holding individuals like Kombi accountable.
She stated, “Kevin Kombi has demonstrated that he cannot abide by the terms of the Sexual Risk Order that he knew he had to adhere to.
His behaviour is extremely worrying and it is right that he has been held to account.
Kombi is a highly manipulative individual and predatory in nature.
I hope the action taken by the Met in this case shows our commitment to tackling violence against women and girls, specifically targeting predatory offenders.
