ALEXANDRIA SEX OFFENDER BREACHES NOTIFICATION ORDER
A CONVICTED sex offender who breached the terms of his notification order 'will welcome all the help he can get', a court has heard.Kevin Jamieson, of Main Street, Alexandria, received a home visit from police on October 16, 2020, when he was reminded that he was required to visit Dumbarton police station within three days to meet the terms of his order.
Daisy Bentley, prosecuting, said the 38-year-old failed to comply with that requirement and didn’t go to the police station until five days later.
When he eventually showed up, police told Jamieson he had breached the order, but he was unable to give an explanation, saying only that he 'forgot'.
Judith Reid, defending, told a hearing at Dumbarton Sheriff Court last week: 'He leads a very chaotic lifestyle.
I think at the time his mother had been very ill and he was trying to be of assistance to her.
He fully accepts that he was in the wrong.
He tells me that he gets on well with his OMU (offender management unit) and find staff very supportive.
He says he will welcome any help he can get.
There are no outstanding cases and he has managed to stay out of trouble.' Sheriff Frances McCartney placed Jamieson on a community payback order with 18 months of social work supervision and a requirement to attend mental health and drug counselling.
He was also put on a 7pm-7am curfew for eight weeks.
