ALEXANDRIA MAN BANNED FROM DRIVING AND CONTACTING EX-PARTNER AFTER OFFENCES
A man has been banned from the roads and from contacting his ex over his crimes.
Kurtis Sutherland previously pleaded guilty to being twice the legal drink limit when he was found in charge of the vehicle in Tontine Crescent, Renton.
On July 18 last year, the 53-year-old had 51mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, when the limit is 22mg.
The same day, he sent text messages that were aggressive to his then-partner.
He repeatedly banged and kicked a door in the street, shouted, and swore.
And he acted in an aggressive manner and uttered threats of violence towards a man there, struggling with him.
Days later, on July 21, at his home in Pappert, Alexandria, he shouted, swore and acted in an aggressive manner towards his ex.
That was while he was on an undertaking to appear in court.
And both offences were aggravated by being against a partner or ex.
Sutherland returned to Dumbarton Sheriff Court on January 20 for sentencing.
Sheriff John McElroy KC put him under a curfew for six months, keeping him at home from 7pm to 7am each day.
He is banned from driving for a year, and banned from any contact with his ex for five years.
