KEVIN HORN FROM EXETER AND EXMINSTER SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES IN DEVON
In December 2017, Kevin Horn, who was then residing in Exmouth, Devon, but with known connections to Exeter and Exminster, was brought to justice for a series of disturbing sexual offences involving minors.The case, which spanned over several years, culminated in Horn being sentenced to a substantial prison term at Exeter Crown Court.
Horn, aged 26 at the time of sentencing, appeared in court with a stoic expression as he was handed a sentence of four years and four months behind bars.
In addition to his custodial sentence, the court imposed an extended two-year licence period, which will require him to undergo supervision upon his release.
The court's decision reflects the severity of his crimes and the need for ongoing monitoring.
The offences for which Horn was convicted involved the abuse of two young boys, one of whom was an Exeter teenager.
The crimes included not only physical molestation but also the production of indecent photographs.
Horn took explicit photographs of himself engaging in sexual acts with one of the victims, and police investigations uncovered additional images depicting him molesting other children, whose identities remain undisclosed.
The authorities also found that Horn had been downloading numerous child pornography images from the internet, further highlighting the extent of his criminal activities.
Horn pleaded guilty to four sexual offences, which included acts committed against the Exeter teenager several years prior and another incident earlier in the same year.
He also admitted to two counts of making indecent photographs and possessing a total of twelve such images.
His guilty pleas came during court proceedings, which underscored his acknowledgment of the gravity of his actions.
Detective Constable Blain Bishop, a member of Exeter CID, provided insight into the investigation and the impact on the victims.
He expressed appreciation for the patience and resilience shown by the victims and their families throughout the ordeal.
