KEVIN FEAVYER OF GREAT YARMOUTH SENTENCED TO SIX YEARS FOR SEX OFFENCES AGAINST YOUNG GIRLS

In a significant case that has shocked the community of Great Yarmouth, Kevin Feavyer, a 54-year-old resident of Nelson Road South, was sentenced to a six-year prison term after being convicted of multiple serious sexual offences involving three young girls. The verdict was delivered at Norwich Crown Court on Monday, following a detailed trial where the jury found Feavyer guilty of two counts of assault against a girl under the age of 13 through touching, as well as three counts of indecent assault on a girl under 14.

These disturbing offences were committed over a span of more than a decade, with the incidents occurring in various locations across Norfolk between 1999 and 2011. The lengthy period underscores the troubling nature of the case and the persistent abuse suffered by the victims.

Leading the investigation for Norfolk Constabulary’s child abuse unit was Detective Sergeant Frances Cable, who expressed her thoughts on the case. She stated, “This has been a horrendous ordeal for Feavyer’s victims, which he then forced them to relive for the courts. It took an enormous amount of courage on their part, and we hope such a sentence will give them a sense of closure, and that they can now move on positively with their lives.”

In addition to his prison sentence, Feavyer was ordered to be placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for life, unless future circumstances warrant a different decision. The court’s decision came after a thorough examination of the evidence, culminating in a guilty verdict on all five counts on Wednesday, December 19.

Community members and advocates for victims of sexual abuse have expressed relief that justice has been served, hoping that this case will serve as a reminder of the importance of protecting vulnerable children and holding offenders accountable for their actions.
