KEVIN BROCK OF CAMBRIDGE SENTENCED TO 32 YEARS FOR ABUSE AND CHILD PORNOGRAPHY
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Cambridge, Kevin Brock, a 28-year-old man residing on Cam Causeway, has been sentenced to a total of 32 years in prison following his conviction on multiple serious charges related to the sexual abuse of young girls and possession of indecent images of children. The criminal activities of Brock came to light in December 2021 when a family member discovered messages on one of the victim's devices. These messages revealed that Brock had been grooming and abusing two girls, both under the age of 13, during the year 2021. The younger of the two victims was subjected to rape on three separate occasions, a revelation that has deeply distressed the community and highlighted the severity of his crimes.
In addition to the assaults on these two girls, Brock had also engaged in a disturbing pattern of online grooming. Over a period of several years, he targeted a third girl, also under 13, on TikTok. He initially asked her to add him on Snapchat, promising to increase her social media followers in exchange for sexual images. As their communication progressed, Brock demanded more explicit content, including videos of the girl engaging in sexual activities. He threatened to ban her from Snapchat if she refused to comply with his demands. The girl, who lived in Nottinghamshire, was coerced into sending explicit photos and videos, which Brock then used to further manipulate her.
Following the discovery of these messages and videos, Brock was arrested. During police interviews, he denied ever touching the girls sexually, claiming that the messages he sent to the older girl were not intended to be sexual. His home was searched, and two mobile phones were seized. Forensic analysis of these devices uncovered a staggering 1,401 indecent images and videos of children, including footage of the rape and sexual abuse of the two young girls. The images were categorized into different severity levels, with 809 being in Category C, 350 in Category B, and 242 in Category A, the most severe.
Despite the overwhelming evidence, Brock maintained a stance of silence during further police interviews, giving
