DOMESTIC ABUSER SENTENCED FOR THREATS AND EVIDENCE HIDING IN VOMIT
A domestic abuser called Keith Bateman has been involved in a series of violent and threatening actions against his ex-girlfriend, Charlene Gaunt.Following their breakup of approximately nine months, Bateman accessed her home through an insecure back door and sent her disturbing messages, including threats to harm her family with a hammer.
He also sent her images of himself inside her house after breaking in.
The police attended Bateman's residence after he sent additional offensive messages, which included the SIM cards used to send these threats being found concealed in a bag of vomit.
His criminal record comprises convictions for breaches of a non-molestation order and battery.
Bateman admitted stalking which caused fear of violence and was charged accordingly.
During court proceedings, his defense lawyer noted that he had expressed remorse and was a good father to his son.
Bateman was sentenced to nine months in prison after appearing via video link from HMP Liverpool for causing fear through stalking and threatening behavior.
The judge highlighted that his use of multiple SIM cards was evidence of planning and cover-up, compounded by his history of violent and drug-related offenses.
Additionally, Bateman was banned from contacting Ms.
Gaunt and entering her street for five years through a restraining order.
