COLCHESTER MAN IMPRISONED FOR BREACHING STALKING ORDER
A NOTORIOUS Colchester criminal with a long history of offending has been sentenced for breaching an interim stalking protection order. In January courts banned Kieran Hibble, 28, from entering certain parts of the city.
He breached the ruling one month later when videos he shared online showed him driving in areas of Colchester from which he had been banned.
Officers also found Hibble breached the order by keeping more mobile phones – some of which contained images of his victims – than he was allowed to and failing to inform officers about the vehicles he was using.
Hibble also provided false information about vehicles he did have access to, which was also a breach of his order.
He had previously admitted seven counts of breaching the stalking prevention order, two counts of breaching a non-molestation order, and one count of driving while disqualified.
He appeared before Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Thursday where he was given a ten-year stalking protection order with additional conditions.
He is currently remanded in custody awaiting sentencing at Ipswich Crown Court on Tuesday, June 3 for causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
Speaking after the hearing, PC Rob Kedar of Essex Police's domestic abuse problem solving team said: “Hibble’s case shows the lengths we go to when monitoring suspects in our communities.
Breaching a stalking prevention order as he did gives us the power to arrest and means offenders may face a custodial sentence.
The domestic abuse problem solving team’s work is entirely focused on prolific offenders like Hibble, who repeatedly breach orders made by the court and pose a risk to those they are designed to protect.
We will find those offenders and they will face justice.” Hibble, who committed 63 offences before he was 21, has previously been sentenced for driving 57mph in Ipswich Road whilst he was still a learner driver.
