FORTH VALLEY MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO DOMINEERING DOMESTIC ABUSE
A man from the Forth Valley area, Karol Nowakowski, aged 37, has been involved in abusive behavior towards his estranged wife in Tullibody, which resulted in court proceedings.
The case, called at Alloa Sheriff Court, involved Nowakowski, who appeared with a Polish translator on July 22.
He admitted that between August 1 and September 26 of the previous year, he engaged in an abusive course of contact with his partner by acting in a controlling and coercive manner, shouting at her and attempting to contact her excessively by telephone.
The court was informed that the couple had been together since 2005, married in 2009, and separated in 2019.
Sheriff Pino di Emidio described the behavior as "unpleasant, domineering and coercive" and emphasized that "it’s not a crime to argue, but lines were crossed here." As a consequence, the judge imposed a community payback order including one year of supervision, 108 hours of unpaid work, and a one-year non-harassment order.
