THIEF MOLESTED GIRL AND THREATENED TO SHARE ABUSE PHOTOS DURING KNIFEPOINT SHOP ROBBERY IN TOTTENHAM
A thief who sexually assaulted a teenager and took pictures of her during a terrifying knifepoint robbery has been locked up for more than 14 years.Kai Wang, 38, abused the 13-year-old while he and associate Quan Chan conducted the violent raid at a shop in Tottenham on January 22.
While Chan forced the child's mother to take him to her home so he could steal cash, Wang molested the girl, photographed her and threatened to share the images if she went to police.
On Tuesday (May 14), both men were jailed for their respective crimes during that shocking robbery at Wood Green Crown Court.
"Only interested in the money" On the evening of the robbery, the mother and daughter were working at a shop when Chan and Wang entered; both were wearing beanie hats and scarves partially covering their faces.
Chan claimed he was going to place an order for food before he grabbed the woman and placed his left hand across her neck.
Having pulled out a knife and forced it against the woman’s throat, he told her not to scream and to obey their demands.
The CCTV system in the store was then disabled and removed by the attackers.
The twisted duo pushed the woman and her daughter into the back of the shop before covering their mouths with brown tape and binding their hands and feet to a chair with rope.
Chan kept repeating that he was only interested in money and that if the woman did not cooperate, her daughter would be hurt.
Wang then brandished a knife towards the child’s face which resulted in her nose being slashed.
Although cash was recovered, the greedy men demanded more money, threatening to take the girl outside.
Chan stated that he had been watching their house and believed there would be more cash there.
Due to the absolute fear for her daughter’s safety, the woman agreed to go to the house with him.
They left the shop while Wang remained alone with the child.
After Wang sexually assaulted the teenager, he threatened to share the photos he had taken of her should she go to police.
He stole the money from the victim’s home and then walked back towards the shop with the victim before fleeing.
The victim then returned to check on her daughter, discovering her still tied to the chair.
The entire ordeal lasted two hours before police arrived.
The investigation linked Wang to the crime through CCTV footage and evidence found during a police warrant in Tottenham, including weapons, stolen items, and fraudulent identity documents.
