Man who raped schoolgirl every week for five years jailed

MAN WHO RAPED SCHOOLGIRL EVERY WEEK FOR FIVE YEARS JAILED

A man named Adrian Donaldson was sentenced to 20 years in prison after admitting to repeatedly raping a young girl over a period of five years.

The abuse started when she was 12 years old and continued until she was 17, at an address in Tottenham, London.

During this time, he was found to have caused the girl to become pregnant twice, both pregnancies ending in abortions.

It was revealed that Donaldson would often assault the girl after consuming alcohol or drugs, and he would also intimidate her by making her send nude photos and inviting her to visit him.

The court was told that he threatened that if she disclosed the abuse, he would accuse her of 'coming onto him,' which left her feeling suicidal.

Donaldson was initially arrested for sexual assault and later for multiple counts of rape, attempted rape, sexual assault, and causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent, covering offenses between January 2015 and January 2020.

Although he initially denied all charges, he later pleaded guilty to seven counts of rape, sexual assault, and related offenses.

He was sentenced on a Friday at Wood Green Crown Court.

The victim's mother eventually reported the abuse after discovering what had happened, and police responded by arresting Donaldson at his home, where he was found intoxicated and attempting to assault the girl again.

Detective Sergeant Gill Cousins described the crime as "horrific," emphasizing the lasting impact on the victim and praising her bravery in coming forward.

She urged any other victims to report their experiences to the police.
