JULIAN DALE FROM ALLSTREE SENTENCED FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY AND CHILD UNDERWEAR TRAFFICKING IN DERBY
In December 2019, a disturbing case emerged involving Julian Dale, a 49-year-old resident of Allestree, who was found to have engaged in highly disturbing activities related to child exploitation and abuse.The investigation revealed that Dale had purchased large quantities of children’s underwear through online platforms, specifically eBay, with the intent of fueling his sexual fantasies.
Shockingly, he kept a pair of these undergarments beneath his pillow, indicating a disturbing level of obsession and a possible attempt to incorporate these items into his illicit activities.
Further investigations uncovered that Dale had fabricated a false identity as a widowed father, communicating with online sellers under this guise.
He sent messages that appeared to be from a parent seeking clothing for his children, claiming that their mother had died of cancer.
These messages were part of a calculated deception aimed at acquiring children’s underwear for sexual purposes.
The online activity also included searches for a young child sex doll described as “without breasts,” as well as explicit images of boys and girls as young as eight years old.
His internet search history was filled with terms such as “teen school porn” and other searches involving young children, both boys and girls.
In August of the previous year, authorities executed a search warrant at Dale’s residence on King’s Croft in Allestree.
During the raid, police seized his computer and various electronic devices.
The forensic analysis revealed a disturbing collection of images, including 32 Category A images, 22 Category B images, and 266 Category C images, all of a highly illegal and abusive nature.
The devices also contained numerous search queries indicating active efforts to find and view such material.
Among the evidence was a search for a sex doll resembling a young girl without breasts, further emphasizing his disturbing interests.
Additionally, law enforcement found a pair of children’s underwear hidden under Dale’s pillow, which strongly suggested that he was using children’s clothing as a sexual aid.
The evidence painted a clear picture of someone deeply involved in the possession and distribution of child abuse images and related material.
During court proceedings, Dale admitted to four counts of possessing indecent images of children.
His criminal record was noted to include only two previous motoring convictions, indicating a relatively clean record prior to this case.
Prosecutor Steven Taylor explained that an online investigator from eBay had alerted police to suspicious activity on Dale’s account in 2018, which led to the investigation.
The prosecutor detailed how Dale had been sending inappropriate sexual messages to sellers and purchasing large quantities of children’s underwear under false pretenses, claiming to be a father concerned about his children’s clothing needs due to the mother’s death.
In mitigation, Stuart Newsam highlighted that Dale was the sole carer for his 84-year-old mother and expressed remorse for his actions.
He acknowledged Dale’s addiction to viewing such vile images and emphasized that his client was not attempting to evade justice.
The court was informed that if Dale were to be imprisoned, arrangements had been made for his mother to be placed into care.
Judge Robert Egbuna sentenced Julian Dale to a 16-month prison term, suspended for two years.
Additionally, he imposed a two-year community order, including 35 days of rehabilitation requirements with the probation service.
Dale was also subjected to a 10-year sexual harm prevention order and was ordered to register as a sex offender for the same duration.
The court’s ruling reflects the seriousness of his offenses and the need to protect the community from further harm.
