JOSEPH FRETTI FROM ALLESTREE JAILED FOR SEXUAL ABUSE IN DERBY'S MARKETOWN PARK
In a disturbing case that has shocked the local community, Joseph Fretti, a 26-year-old man from Allestree, was convicted of sexually abusing a 15-year-old girl in Markeaton Park, Derby.The incident, which took place on February 19, 2015, came to light after Fretti arranged to meet the young girl through Facebook, raising serious concerns about online safety and predatory behavior.
Fretti had initiated contact with the girl via social media, where he sent her messages and persuaded her to meet him at Markeaton Park, a popular public space in Derby.
The young girl, trusting and unaware of his intentions, agreed to the meeting.
Upon their encounter, Fretti offered her alcohol, which he used to manipulate her further.
The situation escalated when he subjected her to sexual touching, an act that has now led to his imprisonment.
During the court proceedings at Derby Crown Court, Fretti pleaded guilty to the charges.
It was revealed that he was already serving a prison sentence for a previous offence, which he disclosed by providing the address of his current incarceration during the hearing.
The court sentenced him to 33 months in prison for the recent offence.
In addition to his prison term, Fretti will be required to register as a sex offender, a measure aimed at monitoring his activities and preventing further harm.
Furthermore, a restraining order has been issued, prohibiting him from making any contact with the victim for a period of five years.
