STAMFORD MAN FACES PRISON FOR RAPE AT CARE HOME
A man named Joshua Kearney has been formally charged with multiple serious sexual offences following reports of sexual assaults occurring at a care facility in Stamford.The Lincolnshire Police received a report on Thursday, June 19, indicating a woman had been sexually assaulted at a care home in the area.
Authorities identified a suspect, who was subsequently arrested and bailed while investigations continued.
As the inquiry progressed, Joshua Kearney, aged 35 and residing at Cornstall Buildings in Stamford, was detained on suspicion of further offences on Saturday morning, July 26.
He was formally charged last night with three counts of rape and three counts of engaging in sexual activity with a mentally disordered female.
Kearney appeared today at Lincoln Magistrates' Court and was remanded into custody.
A court hearing is scheduled at Lincoln Crown Court on August 26.
Lincolnshire Police confirmed that they are withholding the name of the care home to prevent the identification of victims, who are protected by legislation that grants them lifelong anonymity.
The police also stated that victims and their families are being supported by officers, and investigations remain ongoing.
