In a brief hearing at the Central Criminal Court today, Josh O'Brien from Walkinstown Avenue, Crumlin, Dublin 12, entered a guilty plea for the attempted murder of Niamh Kelly.

Senior defence attorney Michael O'Higgins told the court that the victim was O'Brien's partner at the relevant time.
He added that Ms Kelly remains in treatment for her injuries and that a medical report about her condition has been obtained.
He requested that sentencing proceedings be postponed until later in October to allow for an updated medical report that would better reflect her recovery.
