EGREMONT MAN JAILED FOR VIOLENT ATTACK ON PARTNER AND HER MOTHER
A 26-year-old man from Beckgreen, Egremont, named Josh Dunn, inflicted serious violence on his partner and her mother after suffering a head injury during a night of heavy drinking.
Dunn, who admitted to five charges—including two actual bodily harm assaults, intentional strangulation, racially aggravated criminal damage, and threatening to damage property—became violent when his partner attempted to help him by taking him to hospital.
During the attack, Dunn bit her face, stuck his finger into her eye, and strangled her, rendering her unable to breathe.
He then assaulted her mother, dragging her to a brick wall and punching and kicking her for several minutes.
The court heard that Dunn had a history of violence, including slapping his partner while under the influence of alcohol or drugs on numerous occasions.
Following the incident on April 7, Dunn was sentenced to 20 months in prison and issued a five-year restraining order banning contact with the victims and access to the location where he committed the assault.
