CATRINE MAN PLACED ON SEX OFFENDERS REGISTER FOR CHILD ABUSE IMAGES
A CREEP has been placed on the sex offenders register after he was caught with tens of thousands of indecent images of young girls stashed in his home.Ayr Sheriff Court heard the 55-year-old was caught with the sick haul of 62,521 moving and 536 images between March 19, 2018 and February 1, 2024, at his address in Fourfields, Catrine.
The court heard they were mainly category C.
Prosecutors said a further 134 images were CGI created - with other 733,313 images considered 'borderline' and due to the context of being found with other indecent images.
Procurator Fiscal depute Alasdair Millar said: 'He first appeared March 4, 2024, and committed for further examination.
He was bailed under special conditions.
At 8.40am police witness attended his address in Catrine with a search warrant.
The accused was present.
They seized a tower units hard drives and a USB.
Police witnesses asked who they belonged to and he confirmed he owned all the devices.
Devices were checked by the cyber crime unit who confirmed indecent images.
The accused was arrested and conveyed to Kilmarnock Police Office.
He was charged with possessing sexual abuse material and released on an undertaking.' The sickening images, considered the lower classification in law, were described in graphic detail in court, including children eight and 12 in 'mini skirts', 'bikinis', 'suspenders', 'skimpy underwear', 'a leotard' and 'topless'.

Millar added they intended to move for a further Sexual Harm Prevention Order against Lampard.
Defence solicitor Colin McLaughlan said: 'He has no other matters outstanding.
He is a man who has been employed his whole adult life until ill health.' Sheriff Mhairi MacTaggart said: 'I will defer sentence for a period of six weeks or so for a full risk assessment.' Bail was continued and he was placed on the sex offenders register.
