JOSEPH HALL FROM ATHERSTONE SENTENCED FOR VIOLENT ATTACK AND SOCIAL MEDIA ABUSE

Joseph Hall, aged 27 and hailing from Atherstone, has been sentenced to five years in prison following a series of violent and disturbing actions against his girlfriend. The incident, which culminated in December 2022, was the result of months of ongoing abuse and intimidation that ultimately led to his conviction.

Hall's relationship with the victim lasted for approximately 18 months. During this period, he subjected her to a pattern of violent behavior, including physical assaults and verbal threats. In June of the same year, after hours of abuse, Hall escalated his aggression by threatening to kill her, creating a highly dangerous and volatile situation. His actions not only caused physical harm but also instilled significant emotional distress in his partner.

Adding to the severity of his misconduct, Hall engaged in a disturbing act of social media abuse. Earlier in June, he uploaded an intimate video of his girlfriend onto social media platforms without her consent. This act of disclosing private material was intended to cause her distress and humiliation, further demonstrating his malicious intent.

Following a thorough investigation by Warwickshire Police’s domestic abuse team, Hall was charged and subsequently found guilty on multiple counts. His convictions included assault, criminal damage, and threatening a person with a weapon. Additionally, he was convicted of disclosing a private sexual film with the intent to cause distress, as well as making threats to kill.
