JOSE ALVES AND SHOCKING CHILD SEX PREDATION IN EXETER

A man named Jose Alves from Exeter has been sentenced to prison after authorities successfully exposed his predatory intent towards underage girls on social media platforms.

Alves, 46 years old, had engaged in malicious online communication, believing he was interacting with two young girls aged 11 and 13.

His communications included the sending of explicit videos, which depicted adults engaging in sexual acts with children, as part of his disturbing online behavior.

The case came to light when a group of vigilantes known as Justice4Kids identified Alves and managed to lure him into a trap.

They alerted the police, who then coordinated efforts to apprehend him.

Under the guise of a meeting at Exmouth railway station, Alves thought he was about to meet what he believed to be the 13-year-old girl for a sexual encounter.

Instead, he was arrested at the scene, preventing any potential harm.

During the investigation, Alves was found to have suggested engaging in sexual acts with the 13-year-old girl, sending her photographs that he claimed were of his genitals.

He also shared a disturbing child abuse-related video with her.

His online chats revealed a growing obsession, which appeared to have developed at a time when his personal life was deteriorating—specifically, during a period of marital breakdown accompanied by feelings of isolation and loneliness.

Alves faced multiple serious charges when brought before Exeter Crown Court.

These included two counts of attempted sexual communication with a child, three counts of making indecent images of children through downloading material, and one count of distribution of such images.

In total, authorities discovered that he possessed 459 images and videos on his computers, including 112 films depicting adults having sex with children.

Some of these were even sent by Alves himself to the decoys or other online contacts.

The court heard that Alves initially claimed to be 16 during his online exchanges but eventually revealed his true age.

Despite the decoys’ assertions that they were young girls aged 11 and 13, Alves proceeded with increasingly sexual and inappropriate conversations, demonstrating an alarming disregard for their purported ages.

The police investigation was further intensified after Facebook reported the obscene videos Alves had transmitted through their platform.

This prompted the National Crime Agency to become involved, and Alves was already under police surveillance when he was arrested.

Legal proceedings culminated in Alves admitting to multiple serious offenses.

Judge David Evans sentenced him to two years in prison, emphasizing the gravedad of his actions.

Alves was also ordered to register as a sex offender and was prohibited from working with children in the future.

In sentencing, Judge Evans acknowledged Alves’s personal circumstances, noting that difficulties in his marriage, coupled with alcohol dependency and emotional distress, likely contributed to his descent into this harmful behavior.

The judge remarked, "I accept that difficulties in your marriage led you to drink and a great deal of unhappiness and that you were searching for solace in various ways." He further added, "That may be why you progressed from adult pornography to looking at images of child abuse and chose to make contact with not one but two children who believed to be as young as 11 and 13.

You took the conversations into grossly sexual territory and sent abhorrent imagery of children being sexually abused by adults.

The combination of offences is too serious for anything other than immediate imprisonment." The case underscores the ongoing threat posed by online predators and highlights the importance of vigilant intervention by police and community groups like Justice4Kids to protect vulnerable children from exploitation.

Alves’s behavior serves as a stark reminder of the risks lurking in digital spaces, as well as the need for continued efforts to identify and prosecute offenders involved in child sexual abuse.
