DERBY SCHOOL WORKER JAILED FOR SEXUAL ABUSE OF PUPILS
A school administrator has been jailed after he admitted to sexually abusing three girls while working at the Da Vinci Academy in Derby.
The victims, all under 16, were targeted during school hours.
The extent of Roberts' offending was uncovered after the first teenager came forward, revealing he had sex with her during school time, leading to the identification of two more girls.
Roberts, aged 23 and formerly from Breaston, Derbyshire, was sentenced to 44 months in prison after pleading guilty to charges of sexual activity with a child by penetration and two counts of sexual assault.
One of the girls reported suffering from flashbacks and sleep difficulties, while her mother expressed how Roberts had taken her innocence and made her blame herself.
Roberts initially denied the offences but changed his plea to guilty before trial and was sentenced at Derby Crown Court.
The investigation was led by Detective Constable Charlotte Flint, who praised the victims' resilience and emphasized the betrayal of trust involved.
Roberts received additional sanctions including a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order, registration on the Sex Offenders Register indefinitely, and a 10-year restraining order.
