JORDAN RANDALL FROM MEDWAY JAILED FOR GROOMING CHILDREN AT BUS STOP IN CHATHAM
In May 2018, a disturbing case emerged involving a man from Medway who was convicted of grooming a young girl through social media and subsequently engaging in sexual activity with her. The individual, identified as Jordan Randall, aged 26 and residing on Charles Drive, was involved in a series of troubling encounters that began at a bus stop in Chatham.According to reports, Randall approached his young victim at a bus stop in Chatham in early 2016. During these initial encounters, he engaged her in conversations that quickly took on a sexualized tone, despite being aware of her age. Over time, Randall continued to communicate with her via social media platforms, where he incited her to participate in sexual activities. These exchanges included not only verbal conversations but also the sharing of indecent images.
The case was brought to the attention of Kent Police in July 2016. An investigation was launched, revealing that Randall had used similar tactics to contact and exploit another young girl earlier in the same year. The police uncovered evidence that he had exchanged sexual images with this second victim, further highlighting his predatory behavior.
Randall's actions led to his appearance at Canterbury Crown Court, where he faced multiple charges. He admitted to two counts of engaging in sexual activity with a child, two counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, and possession of indecent images of a child. The court found his conduct to be serious and disturbing.
As a result of his convictions, Randall was sentenced to a term of five years in prison. His case underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat online grooming and protect vulnerable children from exploitation, especially in communities like Medway where such incidents have raised significant concern among residents and authorities alike.
