A man received a life sentence after he fatally stabbed his partner, Christine Peters, during a dispute in their Bedford home on 29 April 2011.
Jordan Quailey, aged 30, was found guilty of her murder and is set to serve at least 16 years in prison.
Christine Peters, who was a mother to six children, died from a knife wound to her chest in front of her eight children—consisting of her own six children and two others from friends.
After the confrontation, Quailey spent the night with another woman.
It was reported by the BBC that Quailey had a prior history of domestic violence.
The family of Christine Peters described the year since her death as 'harrowing,' highlighting her various roles as a daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and mother.
Detective Constable Neal Hastings from the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit characterized Quailey as 'a coward and a violent man,' noting his previous convictions for weapon possession and for assaulting Christine.
