JORDAN MASTERSON'S SHOCKING CRIME IN LIVERPOOL: POLICE OFFICER'S BETRAYAL OF TRUST
A police officer from Cheshire Police, Jordan Masterson, has been sentenced to three and a half years in prison after engaging in a deeply inappropriate and criminal act with a vulnerable woman in Liverpool. The incident occurred on December 28, 2021, when Masterson responded to a 999 emergency call at the woman's residence. Upon arrival, he deactivated his body-worn camera shortly after entering the property, a move that raised suspicions and was seen as an attempt to conceal his misconduct. While the woman, identified only as Female G, was in her home with her children upstairs, Masterson engaged in a consensual sexual encounter with her. The court heard that this act was a gross abuse of his position of authority and trust. Chester Crown Court found him guilty of misconduct in public office, emphasizing that his actions were not only morally wrong but also criminally punishable.
Judge Michael Leeming delivered a stern verdict, stating that Masterson exploited the woman for his own sexual gratification. The judge pointed out that Masterson had attempted to portray himself as a victim, blaming the woman for the consequences that followed, including the impact on his career. However, the court dismissed these claims, making it clear that Masterson was solely responsible for the downfall of his professional life.
The woman described the incident as 'beyond traumatic,' expressing her profound sense of betrayal and loss of faith in police and authority figures. Her account underscored the damaging effects of the officer’s misconduct on her mental health and trust in law enforcement.
Masterson attempted to justify his behavior by claiming he felt 'powerless' during the encounter and alleged that the woman had instigated the contact after returning to the room without clothing. It was revealed that he had previously completed a vulnerability assessment, which advised caution regarding her behavior, yet he chose to ignore these guidelines.
After serving nearly two years on the police force, Masterson resigned in 2022. Following his resignation, he was placed on a police barred list, effectively preventing him from seeking employment within law enforcement again. The Independent Office for Police Conduct condemned his actions as 'appalling,' highlighting that he showed no remorse for his misconduct. This case has further eroded public trust in policing, raising serious concerns about accountability and the safeguarding of vulnerable individuals in the community.
