VIOLENT THUG HIT GIRLFRIENDS IN NEAR-IDENTICAL ATTACKS 18 MONTHS APART
A man with a violent history has been convicted and incarcerated after abusing two partners in nearly identical incidents spaced roughly 18 months apart.Jordan Lucas is now in custody following a Sheffield Crown Court hearing on July 26, 2023.
Judge Megan Rhys emphasised the serious impact of his actions, citing victim statements that detailed the trauma inflicted.
The first assault occurred on November 7, 2020, targeting his former partner, known as Complainant A.
Prosecutor Gurdial Singh provided details of how Lucas had been out with friends and contacted her during the evening, insulting her by calling her a derogatory name.
During the incident, he drove with her, made threats to harm her, including killing her, and took her to a remote wooded area.
There, he assaulted her repeatedly punching her, gripping her throat, and obstructing her airway.
Complainant A managed to record part of the attack, but Lucas deleted this video before the victim was allowed to leave.
She informed her family, leading to police intervention.
Lucas was discovered hiding under a caravan and was arrested.
The victim required hospital treatment for injuries such as bruises, scratches, and a two-centimeter wound to her eye.
A second attack took place around 18 months later, on May 5, 2022, involving a different partner, identified as Complainant B.
She was in Sheffield city centre when Lucas called her to arrange a pickup.
The confrontation escalated, with Lucas choking her and displaying aggressive behavior outside the premises.
Witnesses saw him hitting her with her own shoe, and CCTV footage showed him dragging her along the street.
She recollected being struck inside his vehicle and being left stranded.
Lucas later drove her home, continued the assault, and returned with flowers to apologize.
She was left with bruises all over her body.
The court heard detailed victim impact statements, revealing widespread fear and lasting psychological effects.
Complainant A described feeling as if she was going to die during her assault and now suffers from nightmares and ongoing fear, while Complainant B has developed PTSD and feels significantly more anxious.
Lucas, who resides in Chesterfield, admitted to the charges of threats to kill and assault causing actual bodily harm.
His lawyer, Dermot Hughes, requested leniency due to his health problems and remorse.
The judge sentenced him to five years in prison and issued five-year restraining orders to protect both victims.
