A man subjected his partner to a series of brutal attacks which saw him punching, throttling, and biting her on the face "so nobody would fancy her," a court has heard.A judge said she had no doubt Jordan Coles is a danger to women with whom he has relationships.
Coles's advocate admitted his client's behaviour was "abhorrent" and acknowledged a "disturbing pattern of behaviour" in his relationships with women, stating that there was work needed to address issues from his life and childhood.
The court detailed how Coles met the complainant in Swansea in early April and quickly entered into an intense and controlling relationship.
His behaviour escalated over the following months, culminating in violent assaults including punching, throttling, and biting her, often while intoxicated.
The court heard about prior convictions for violence, threats with a knife, ABH, and burglary from 2019 and 2020 related to past relationships.
Jordan Coles received a sentence of 46 months in prison, with the judge emphasizing that he poses a "real risk" to women he becomes involved with.
