JOHNNY LAW AND HIS SHOCKING CRIMES IN SOUTHSEA AND PORTSMOUTH

Johnny Law, a man with a troubling criminal history, has once again found himself on the wrong side of the law following a series of disturbing incidents involving underage girls and the illegal distribution of cannabis. His most recent conviction centers around a vile attack on a teenage girl in the Portsmouth area, specifically in Waterlooville, after he lured her with drugs and then assaulted her.

Law’s past is marked by a failed appearance on the television dating show 'Blind Date' roughly a decade ago, where he tried to make an impression as a part-time singer. During that appearance, he performed in front of the studio audience, attempting to win over a woman by singing a Buddy Holly song, but ultimately was not chosen by his intended date. Unbeknownst to the viewing public at the time, Law had a history of serious allegations, including an earlier rape accusation.

In that prior case, Law, then living in Oxford, was acquitted of charges related to an incident in 1995 when he was accused of raping a woman who had been picked up at the end of Cornmarket Street. Law claimed the encounters were consensual, asserting that the woman consented to sex before fleeing after he disclosed he had a girlfriend and a child. Despite this, Law was found guilty in a different case of unlawful sexual intercourse, and subsequently received a sentence of two years in prison. He was also placed on the sex offenders' register for ten years.

Fast forward to more recent events, Law’s criminal activity persisted after he moved to Hampshire, specifically Southsea and Waterlooville. The latest victim, a 15-year-old girl, recounted in video interviews how Law approached her by asking for directions. After this initial contact, Law offered her cannabis, and then lured her into a nearby field off Stakes Hill Road in Waterlooville. There, he subjected her to a brutal attack. Law had picked her up in his van and then enticed her to follow him. The girl’s account detailed how he gave her cannabis first and then proceeded to assault her.

Law’s modus operandi involved giving the girl drugs before committing the assault, which occurred in a secluded area. He initially tried to deny any DNA evidence linking him to the crime, claiming that the police would not find any. However, forensic tests on the girl’s clothing proved otherwise, revealing traces of Law’s DNA. Faced with this evidence, Law altered his story and claimed that the girl had wanted to have sex with him voluntarily.

Despite his efforts to deny responsibility, a jury at Portsmouth Crown Court swiftly dismissed Law’s explanation, reaching a verdict of guilty after just four hours of deliberation. Law, who is scheduled to be sentenced at the Isle of Wight Crown Court next month, showed no visible remorse when the verdict was announced. He was dressed neatly in a grey suit but remained emotionally detached as the court officials delivered their judgment.

Outside the courtroom, Law’s reaction was deeply concerning. As he was leaving, he shouted that he was contemplating suicide, stating, “I am going to kill myself. I'd rather be dead than in prison.” The distress was palpable, especially to the girl’s mother, who expressed her heartbreak and anger over Law’s history. She remarked, “To know that he has done something like this before makes me feel sick. Maybe if he had been dealt with properly my daughter would not have had to have gone through this.”

Law’s troubling background extends beyond these recent incidents. His past allegations, coupled with his known tendencies, paint a worrying picture of a man with a pattern of criminal behavior involving sexual offenses and exploitation. As he awaits sentencing, the community and legal authorities continue to reflect on the failures that allowed such a pattern to develop, and the need for stringent measures to prevent further harm.
