SWANSEA MAN WITH MENTAL AGE OF 12 OR 13 RAPED IN PUB TOILET
A young man with the “mental age of a 12 or 13 year old” was raped in a Swansea pub toilet, a court heard.
Johnathan Michael Jones, aged 41, went into the pub toilet cubicle and forced his victim into sexual acts.
The victim, who had met Jones previously, was assaulted after they entered the toilet together.
CCTV footage showed the men entering and leaving the pub toilet separately around 11 minutes later.
Jones was arrested and later pleaded guilty to sexual assault, assault by penetration, oral rape and anal rape.
He was sentenced to an extended sentence of 13 years (nine years in prison plus four years extended license).
The court noted Jones's prior conviction from 2005 for touching a 12-year-old boy and highlighted that his offending targeted a vulnerable individual with a mental age of around 12 or 13.
