NORTH SHIELDS MAN CAUGHT WITH SICK CHILD ABUSE IMAGES GETS SUSPENDED JAIL SENTENCE

A paedophile searched for and downloaded vile photos and videos of children being sexually abused.

John Office had amassed a sordid collection of more than 80 pictures and films, with some involving kids as young as four.

The court heard that Office had actively been searching for this disgusting material and appeared to be involved in a sharing network.

When examined, his electronic devices contained 41 videos and 48 photos, including some in category A, which involve penetrative sexual activity.

Children aged between four and 15 were depicted; searches also included young children involved in sexual abuse.

Office, of Dorking Avenue, North Shields, appeared at Newcastle Magistrates' Court where he pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images of children.

The images and videos were downloaded between July 29, 2024, and December 1 of the same year.

He had 24 category A videos and five images, with additional content in categories B and C.

His defense said he had sought help for his offending behavior.

He was sentenced to 12 months in prison, suspended for two years, and ordered to pay costs and a victim surcharge.

The court was told that he is seeking help and addressing matters, with the Probation Service confident of his rehabilitation.
