JOHN MILTON FROM MOSSELEY HILL JAILED FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY IN LIVERPOOL
In a serious case that has shocked the local community, John Milton, a 60-year-old resident of Mossley Hill, was sentenced to six months in prison after being found guilty of possessing over 100 indecent photographs of children. The incident was brought to light during a court hearing at Liverpool Crown Court, where it was revealed that Milton had accumulated a significant collection of illicit images.Milton claimed that his possession of these images was for what he described as 'a private exploration' of memories from his childhood, which he described as abusive and repressed. This explanation was met with little sympathy from the court, especially considering the nature of some of the photographs. It was disclosed that among the images were photographs taken by Milton himself of a seven-year-old girl approximately 25 years ago. The authorities only became aware of his activities after the girl experienced a flashback, which prompted an investigation into Milton's activities.
Judge Gerald Clifton, presiding over the case, delivered a stern sentence, emphasizing that the passage of time does not diminish the harm caused by such actions. He stated, 'The passage of time does not wipe out the harm you did.' Milton was ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register and was explicitly prohibited from working with children in any capacity.
During the proceedings, Milton admitted to 13 counts related to the possession of indecent photographs. His defense lawyer, Teresa Loftus, highlighted that Milton had no prior criminal record and that he had the support of his wife, despite the fact that her family had distanced themselves from the couple. The case underscores the ongoing concerns about child exploitation and the importance of vigilant law enforcement in protecting vulnerable individuals from such heinous crimes.
