JOHN MCFADDEN FROM BEARSEN AND KIRKINTILLOCH SENTENCED FOR CHILD ABUSE AND BLACK MAGIC RITUALS
In a disturbing case that has shocked the communities of Bearsden and Kirkintilloch, John McFadden, aged 42, has been sentenced to seven years in prison after being found guilty of heinous child abuse crimes committed over several years. The court proceedings revealed a pattern of abuse that spanned from the early 1980s to the early 1990s, involving three young victims, with the most recent abuse occurring in Kirkintilloch.McFadden, who previously served as a police officer, was convicted of abusing a boy between 1988 and 1992 in Kirkintilloch. In addition, he was found guilty of assaulting two other children at various addresses within Kirkintilloch between 1983 and 1990. The High Court in Glasgow heard detailed testimonies about the manipulative and sinister methods McFadden employed to silence his victims and maintain control over them.
During the trial, it was disclosed that McFadden had been running a martial arts club in the area when he began abusing a 12-year-old boy who had joined the club. The court heard how McFadden befriended the young boy, inviting him to stay overnight at his home. It was during these encounters that McFadden used psychological manipulation and threats, claiming that demons and spirits would kill the boy and drag him to hell unless he submitted to sexual acts. The court was shown evidence that McFadden dressed in a black cloak and used a crucifix adorned with a skull and crossbones, along with an onyx ring which he claimed granted him supernatural power, to intimidate and terrify his young victim into silence.
The victim, now 32 years old, recounted how McFadden abused him almost daily over a period of four years. He described how McFadden employed threats and black magic rituals to keep him from revealing the abuse. The victim explained, “He started to get us into this black magic. He described himself as a high priest with this black magic circle. He said he could have out of body experiences and could talk to demons and spirits. One day he said he was going to initiate me into the circle and this became the main driver for my silence. He had a cast iron bowl and he pricked my finger and put some blood in it, then he took some of my hair and said that he had to have some of my semen and then it all had to be burned.”
The abuse was interrupted when McFadden joined the Royal Marines and moved away from the area, bringing an end to the victim’s suffering at that time. However, the court also heard that in 1999, another man came forward to report that he had been indecently assaulted by McFadden at the age of seven. Although McFadden resigned from the police force that same year, he was not initially convicted of any crimes. It was only after additional victims came forward that police reopened the case and charged him several years later.
During a police search of McFadden’s residence, authorities discovered disturbing items including a devil mask, two wands, sex toys, and lubricants. Despite McFadden’s attempts to deny the allegations, claiming that his victims fabricated their stories, the jury found him guilty beyond reasonable doubt. Judge Lord Matthews sentenced McFadden to seven years in prison, emphasizing the gravity of his betrayal of trust. The judge stated, “This was a fairly monstrous breach of trust. You ran a martial arts club and were well regarded. You effectively took people off the street and taught them how to defend themselves, but then abused that trust.”
McFadden’s case has left a lasting scar on the community, highlighting the dangers of those who exploit positions of authority and trust for sinister purposes.
