DRUMCHAPEL MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE
A pervert named John McCann, aged 51, from Drumchapel, sexually abused an eight-year-old girl while they played on an Xbox.Court reports state that McCann repeatedly preyed on his victim at various properties and initially began his abuse when the girl was five years old.
The court was told that McCann, who suffers from multiple sclerosis, began his assault by tickling the girl on the shoulder and neck.
He then told her to unbutton his trousers and made reference to a 'lolly pop'.
McCann made the girl perform a sex act on him 'six to eight times' and also touched her, laying his body on top of hers while they played on a bed.
The girl later confided in adults, leading to police involvement after McCann admitted to the abuse.
Prosecutor Lauren Sangray detailed the abuse, stating that McCann 'tickled' the girl and later engaged in sexual assault including making her perform sex acts and touching her inappropriately.
The court heard that McCann also played Xbox with the girl, who was eight at the time, while they were in bed together.
He was remanded in custody and placed on the sex offenders register while awaiting sentencing, which is deferred pending further reports.
McCann, who uses a walking aid, pleaded guilty to using lewd, indecent, and libidinous practices and behavior on the girl and admitted to sexually assaulting her.
