A DRUG ADDICT THROWN OUT OF HIS HOME GETS SIX MONTHS IN JAIL
A DRUG addict who was thrown out of his family home after shouting abuse at his stepmother has been caged for six months.Persistent offender John Feeley, 18, had been sent packing from the house in Kintyre Avenue, Linwood, following disagreements and disturbances.
Paisley Sheriff Court heard how he returned there demanding food and becoming abusive and angry when the request was refused.
He was asked to leave but started to shout and swear and call his stepmother names.
Police were called and he was charged with conducting himself in a disorderly manner and committing a breach of the peace.
Feeley, who more recently had moved to an address in Blackstoun Oval, Paisley, admitted his guilt and pleaded guilty to a string of other complaints.
The court was told that he broke into a house in Low Road, Paisley, while the occupants were asleep in their beds on April 28.
The startled householder and his wife awoke when they heard their dog barking and found the intruder standing in their bedroom doorway with a torch in his hand.
Police were immediately alerted and Feeley was caught in possession of a mobile phone, car keys, jewellery and credit cards.
He had gained entry in the middle of the night by forcing open a conservatory window.
The court heard that Feeley was also found in unlawful possession of an axe in Tannahill Road, Paisley, in October last year.
Depute fiscal Margaret Porter said he could give no reasonable explanation to police who quizzed him.
After studying reports Sheriff Kavanagh told Feeley the only course open to him was to return him to custody and sentenced him to a total of six months.
