A woman has described how she was forced to leave her home and feared for her safety after being targeted by Paul Higgins, who stalked her for two years.Higgins was convicted in Paisley Sheriff Court on June 9 of two charges of stalking and six other breaches of bail, ultimately being found guilty after a trial.
The victim recounted that Higgins repeatedly tracked her despite her moving homes three times, always managing to locate her.
During the trial, she described her ordeal as two years of "hell," feeling sick to her stomach and constantly looking over her shoulder.
She explained that Higgins would be waiting outside her house at all hours, and his behavior became increasingly alarming, including smashing windows and obsessively following her.
The court ordered Higgins to stay in his home between 7 pm and 7 am and banned him from contacting her.
Higgins, 28, from Linwood, was acquitted of two charges of indecent communication but was bailed to return for sentencing.
The victim expressed her relief that justice was served but remains fearful, longing to move forward without living in fear.
