PRESTWICH MAN SENTENCED AFTER STALKING AND ASSAULT ON EX-PARTNER
A man from Prestwich named John Eric Clukas, aged 36, has been involved in a campaign of harassment against his former partner Hazel Thompson.
He stalked her, turned up at her home and workplace on seven occasions, often intoxicated and under the influence of drugs.
During one incident, he physically attacked her by punching her in the face, kicking her in the groin, and pulling out her hair, resulting in injuries that required medical treatment.
Clukas was detained by police following his last visit in September of the previous year and has been remanded in custody since then.
Recently, he appeared at Bolton Crown Court for sentencing on a harassment charge.
The prosecutor, Ahmed Nadim, stated that Clukas's behavior was persistent and aggressive.
The court imposed a restraining order under the Protection from Harassment Act and sentenced him to a three-year Community Rehabilitation Order, allowing his behavior to be monitored.
The judge warned that any breach of these orders could result in jail time.
