INTERNET CHILD PORN PERVERT JAILED
2000: A man named Frederick Brown was sentenced to 18 months in prison after being convicted of downloading child pornography from the internet.Throughout the verdict, which was delivered by the jury foreman, Brown remained emotionless as guilty findings were returned on five charges associated with his actions.
Judge John Roberts stated that Brown had been rightfully found guilty of downloading extremely disturbing images and mandated that he register as a sex offender for a decade upon his release.
Brown admitted to browsing adult websites and downloading images from those sites, some of which he acknowledged involved children.
He described these images as repulsive and refused to view a folder containing such pictures during his court appearance.
At Bolton Crown Court, Brown denied charges of creating indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of children for five specific instances spanning January 1 to June 7, 1999, when he was living in Prestwich.
He later moved to Santley Street in Longsight, Manchester.
Although he confessed to having an interest in adult pornography, he insisted that the child images were downloaded unintentionally and that he had erased them upon realizing their nature.
Despite his attempts to delete or overwrite the images, computer forensic experts recovered 164 illicit images from his hard drive.
Among these, 27 were stored on a floppy disk, with 12 depicting children and 15 showing adults.
The case came to light after Brown's wife, Jill, alerted the authorities about his online activities.
