MILTON KEYNES MAN SENTENCED TO OVER SEVEN YEARS FOR RAPE
A man has been jailed for a rape in Milton Keynes, following a Thames Valley Police investigation.John Dugan, 29, of Larwood Place, was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison last Friday at Aylesbury Crown Court.He was convicted of two counts of rape during the court proceedings last Thursday. He was found not guilty of one count of non-fatal strangulation.Dugan was responsible for raping a woman in May of this year. He was arrested on May 27th and subsequently charged with two counts of rape and one count of non-fatal strangulation.Detective Constable John Swallow, the investigating officer, emphasized the bravery of the victim throughout the case: “I would like to highlight the bravery of the victim throughout this investigation and trial.” He further explained, “The offence was captured on an audio recording which was harrowing to listen to and proved pivotal in the guilty verdict. This investigation was fast-paced and the investigation team worked tirelessly to secure a charge and remand to custody.”He added, “Thames Valley Police is committed to protecting victims of serious sexual assaults and those who commit such horrific crimes are brought to justice.
