JOHN CLARK SENTENCED IN WEST LOTHIAN FOR SEXUAL AND VIOLENT OFFENCES
A 30-year-old man named John Clark has been handed a significant prison sentence of ten years following a series of serious sexual and violent crimes.The sentencing took place at the High Court in Edinburgh on Thursday, 29 May, 2025, marking the culmination of a lengthy legal process.
Clark was previously convicted at the High Court in Livingston on Wednesday, 30 April, after a trial that revealed his involvement in multiple heinous acts committed over a span of more than a decade.
According to court records, Clark was found guilty of a range of offences against two women, which included rape, abduction, and assault.
These crimes were committed between the years 2008 and 2022 within the boundaries of West Lothian, a region that has been deeply affected by his actions.
The court also imposed a lifetime non-harassment order on Clark, emphasizing the severity of his conduct and the need to protect the victims from further harm.
Detective Constable Calum Skene, who was involved in the investigation, expressed his thoughts on the case, stating, “Clark’s reprehensible actions spanned a lengthy period and caused considerable harm.
He must now face the legal consequences of his conduct.
I want to thank the women involved for their support during the investigation and court process.
We hope this result provides some reassurance and helps them move forward.” Police Scotland reaffirmed its commitment to supporting victims of sexual crimes and ensuring that offenders are brought to justice, regardless of how much time has passed since the offences occurred.
