JOHN BOYLE OF FORFAR SENTENCED FOR ABUSE OF THREE YOUNG GIRLS IN ABERDEEN

In October 2018, a disturbing case of sexual abuse involving a man from Forfar came to light, culminating in a court hearing at Aberdeen High Court. John Joseph Boyle, aged 54, was found guilty of multiple serious sexual offences committed against three young girls, all of whom were under the age of 13 at the time of the incidents.

Boyle, who is also known by the nickname 'Jock', was convicted of engaging in acts of rape, attempted rape, and sexual assault. The court heard that his abuse of one of the victims spanned over a period from 2013 to 2015, beginning when she was merely seven years old. The details of the abuse are particularly harrowing, with evidence revealing that Boyle sexually assaulted the girl during a car journey. During this incident, he repeatedly touched her private parts and coerced her into touching his private parts, causing significant trauma to the young victim.

The case further revealed that Boyle was responsible for raping a second girl and attempting to assault a third girl, all of whom were under 13 years of age. The court was presented with a disturbing account of Boyle’s predatory behavior, which inflicted lasting harm on the victims.

Following the conviction, the judge sentenced Boyle to a total of 12 years in prison. Additionally, Boyle was ordered to register as a sex offender for the remainder of his life, a measure intended to monitor and restrict his contact with vulnerable individuals. The court also imposed various protective orders, including a restraining order and a prohibition against any un-supervised contact with children under the age of 16, to prevent further harm and ensure the safety of potential future victims.
