2000: MAN APPEALS CONVICTION FOLLOWING BEING FOUND GUILTY OF MURDER OF WIFE
Allan, 48, of Woodbank Park, Oxton, was jailed for life after being found guilty of poisoning Cheryl Lewis with cyanide while they were on holiday in Egypt in 1998, but he has lodged an appeal against his conviction.
He denies that he forged 43-year-old Miss Lewis's will to make him the main beneficiary of the estate of which the executors were Cheryl's father Eric Lewis and her former business partner Martyn Green.
Allan's conviction leads to forfeiting any interest in the estate, although this could be reversed through appeal or court relief.
The case was adjourned for three months, with further hearings scheduled for the end of July.
The murder victim Cheryl Lewis's estate of £460,000 is involved in legal disputes, with her estranged husband Graham Lowsby claiming inheritance based on a mutual wills agreement.
