WIRRAL MAN NICKNAMED 'BIG DADDY' CONVICTED FOR ONLINE CHILD GROOMING
A PERVERT with the nickname “Big Daddy” bragged to a 12-year-old girl about the size of his manhood.In online chats, Kevin Diable, asked her to sleep with him and put her hands down his boxer shorts.
However, unknown to him the ‘girl’ did not exist and was actually a fake profile created by a paedophile hunting group called Secretly Tackling Online Predators (STOP).
Liverpool Crown Court heard that Diable, of Gorsefield Road, Oxton, was arrested on July 7, 2022 after members of STOP arrived at his home to confront him.
Chris Hopkins, prosecuting, told the court that when Diable, now 42, first contacted her she said she was 12 and he said that was ok and that “she was cute.” In subsequent conversations he said he was having a shower and asked her to join him and said his nickname was ‘Big Daddy’.
He asked if she wanted him as her "daddy or a friend".
“He said ‘Sleep with me’.
He encouraged her to put her hands down his boxers.
He said that they could have hugs and kiss.
“On another occasion he said ‘hi daughter’.
‘Grab daddy’.
‘Put your hand down my boxers’.
He referred to her being in bed with him and said ‘cute sweet’.
In a different chat he again spoke of having a shower and said they could be naked together and touching each other.
He asked for a picture of her and her mum, said Mr Hopkins.
Diable pleaded guilty to attempted sexual communication with a child.
Judge Brian Cummings, KC, imposed a suspended prison sentence and told the bearded defendant, “You are a marked man if you ever appear before a court for another child sexual offence.
“Another court would see you previously had a suspended sentence and would be unlikely to give you another one.” Judge Cummings also ordered him to carry out 30 days rehabilitation activity days and to sign on the Sex Offenders Register for seven years.
He imposed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for the same length of time.
John Weate, defending, said that the incident was 21 months ago and he has no previous convictions.
He has learning difficulties and since the death of his mother has led an isolated lifestyle.
“He accepts the reasons for his offending do need to be explored and he has to face that.”
