51-YEAR-OLD MAN FROM WIRRAL HAS BEEN JAILED FOR SEX OFFENCES AFTER INDECENT IMAGES AND MESSAGES HE SENT TO A TEENAGE GIRL WERE FOUND ON HIS PHONE.
On Wednesday, 22 February, Liverpool Crown Court sentenced Karl Waterhouse of Audlem Avenue, Oxton, to 18 months in prison after he pleaded guilty to several offences including encouraging a child to take part in sexual activities, engaging in sexual communication with a minor, and possessing a number of Category C indecent images of children.
The case revealed that in December 2021, investigators discovered indecent photographs of a teenage girl and explicit messages on Waterhouse’s phone, with evidence indicating the material dated back to December 2019.
In addition to his prison sentence, Waterhouse was given a five-year restraining order and a sexual harm prevention order that will last for ten years, aiming to prevent further offences.
