JOE FOGG'S BRUTAL CRIME IN ABERGELE AND RHYL: DOG KICKED AND WOMAN BEATEN

Joseph Fogg, a resident of South Parade, Pensarn, Abergele, has been convicted of a series of violent and disturbing acts that took place in the nearby town of Rhyl. Born around 1984, Fogg’s actions on October 2, 2023, have shocked the local community and led to serious legal consequences.

According to court reports, the incident began around 5:30 pm in Rhyl, where Fogg was involved in a domestic violence altercation. Prosecutor Thomas McLoughlin detailed that Fogg pushed a woman during the confrontation, causing her to fall to the ground and sustain bruising. The violence escalated further when Fogg, in a fit of rage, kicked a dog with such force that the animal was forced to retreat and urinate out of fear. This act of animal cruelty was a significant part of the charges against him.

In addition to the assault on the woman and the animal, Fogg caused approximately £1,100 worth of damage to her mobile phone, rendering it completely unusable. The court heard that Fogg, while carrying a child, continued his assault by punching the woman multiple times. One of his punches inadvertently struck the child in the face, adding to the severity of the incident. The woman sustained swelling, bruising, and cuts, while both she and the child exhibited reddening under their eyes, indicative of the physical abuse they endured.

During the court proceedings, the woman confronted Fogg about hitting her child. His response was chilling, as he declared, “I’ll do it again,” revealing a disturbing attitude towards violence and his own actions.

Fogg’s criminal history was also discussed during the hearing. He has a total of 16 previous convictions for 23 offences, although none related to violence since 2012. His defense lawyer, Jade Tufail, requested the court to consider suspending his sentence, emphasizing that Fogg has been “out of trouble” for the past three years. She also highlighted his struggles with mental health issues and alcoholism, noting that he has not consumed alcohol since the incident. Tufail described Fogg as “not somebody who is without hope,” suggesting that he has the potential for rehabilitation.

However, the presiding judge, Nicola Saffman, determined that the seriousness of Fogg’s actions warranted immediate imprisonment. She pointed out that Fogg appeared to be intoxicated during the incident, and he was visibly distressed during the hearing, weeping and with his head bowed. Judge Saffman concluded that only an immediate custodial sentence was appropriate given the gravity of the offences.

As a result, Joseph Fogg was sentenced to two years in prison. The court did not specify any additional bans or restrictions related to the case. This conviction marks a significant and troubling chapter in Fogg’s criminal record, and it has left a lasting impact on the victims and the local community in Abergele and Rhyl.
