In September 2011, Jeffrey Ogles, aged 43, from Southend, was sentenced to 14 years in prison after being convicted of multiple child sex offences.

Ogles sexually abused a girl over a period of three years, from 2006 to 2009.

He was found guilty on all six charges, which included rape and sexual assault.

The case followed an 18-month investigation carried out by Essex Police’s Child Abuse Investigation Team, based in Rayleigh.
