SOUTHEND PAEDOPHILE SCHOOL WORKER TIMOTHY DENNIS JAILED FOR CHILD ABUSE
A PAEDOPHILE school worker who sexually abused a pupil has been jailed for more than four years.Timothy Dennis, of North Avenue, Southend, has been sentenced to four years and eight months in prison after admitting engaging in sexual communication with a child, causing a teenage girl to engage in sexual activity and making indecent images of a child.
The 43-year-old worked at a secondary school in the Basildon borough, which the Echo is choosing not to name for legal reasons, when he started a relationship with the schoolgirl.
Essex County Council has confirmed he was suspended from the school “as soon as concerns were raised” about him and insists all safeguarding procedures were followed.
Dennis admitted all charges on October 2 and appeared at Southend Crown Court on December 15 where he was sentenced.
The court heard he sent graphic messages explaining sexual acts which he wished to do to the victim and sexual acts which he wished for her to perform.
Of the indecent images created, 17 were category C and seven were category B.
During sentencing, Judge Richard Conley also notified Dennis he will or may be subject to barring from working with children.
A sexual harm prevention was made which lasts until 2035.
This means he cannot have unsupervised contact with any child under 18 and has restricted access to devices and social media.
