LEIGH MAN CHARGED WITH KIDNAP AND SEX OFFENCES IN SOUTHEND
A 30-year-old man was charged with kidnap and multiple sexual offences in Southend.
Police received a report of an assault on Woodleigh Avenue, Southend, at around 5.30pm on Thursday, February 5.
In the morning of Saturday, February 7, Kieran Mansfield, of Stonehill Road, Leigh, was arrested and charged with four offences.
Southend’s District Commander Dave Browning said: “I know that something like this may cause concern amongst residents, but I want to reassure you that there is no ongoing risk to the wider community.
The 30-year-old was remanded into police custody and appeared at Southend Magistrates’ Court today (February 9) where he faced a charge of kidnap and three charges of breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) on dates between October 2025 and February 2026.
Kieran Mansfield has been further remanded into custody to appear at Basildon Crown Court on Monday March 9.
