JASON WINSKILL AND JAMIE CHAPMAN FROM UXBRIDGE AND WEST DRAYTON SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ABUSE OF HILLINGDON CARE HOME GIRLS

In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Hillingdon, two brothers, Jason Winskill and Jamie Chapman, have been convicted and sentenced for their involvement in the sexual exploitation and abuse of young girls residing at a local children’s home. The crimes, which took place between May and December 2012, have brought to light a series of heinous acts committed by the siblings against vulnerable victims from the Mulberry Parade Children’s Home in West Drayton.

Jason Winskill, aged 25 and residing on Hatton Grove, was sentenced to a total of 15 years in prison after being found guilty of multiple serious charges. These included rape, attempted rape, four counts of engaging in sexual activity with a minor, and involvement in the supply of cannabis. His actions were characterized by a calculated grooming process, where he befriended the victims—both 15-year-old girls—by meeting them separately in the West Drayton area. Winskill manipulated the girls by telling them they were 'special' and convinced each that he was in an exclusive relationship with her. To facilitate his abusive behavior, he supplied alcohol to the girls, further exploiting their vulnerability.

Jamie Chapman, the younger brother aged 20 and a resident of Hillingdon Road, was also convicted of sexual activity with a minor and involvement in the supply of cannabis. His sentencing included 27 months in prison. The investigation revealed that upon learning of the police inquiry, Chapman attempted to intimidate one of the victims by leaving a threatening voicemail, promising torture and violence if his brother was arrested. This act of witness intimidation contributed to his sentence.

The case was brought to justice after Hillingdon Borough Council expressed concern about the welfare of the girls in their care. An investigation was launched in October 2013 by detectives from the Metropolitan Police Service’s Sexual Exploitation Team. During the inquiry, trained officers interviewed several girls, two of whom disclosed details of abuse by the brothers. The victims, both aged 15 at the time, recounted how Winskill had groomed them by establishing a false sense of intimacy and trust, using alcohol as a tool to facilitate the abuse.

Further disturbing details emerged when Winskill was found to have attempted to sexually assault a third girl at a party in Hillingdon when she was only 14, and he was 15. The investigation also uncovered additional individuals involved in the supply of cannabis, including a 16-year-old boy and two young men. These individuals appeared in court at Southwark Crown Court, where they received various sentences. A 16-year-old received a 12-month youth rehabilitation order and was found guilty of contempt of court but not guilty of the rape charge. Bradley Greeff, aged 20 from Sipson Road, West Drayton, was sentenced to 10 months for cannabis supply and an additional 12 months for contempt of court, but was acquitted of the rape charge. Ashley Lane, also 20 and from Rutters Close, West Drayton, received an eight-month suspended sentence for cannabis involvement.

Detective Chief Inspector Chris Smart of the Metropolitan Police’s Sexual Exploitation Team emphasized the calculated nature of the offenders’ actions, stating, “These individuals specifically targeted two of the victims knowing they had a vulnerability which they could use to their advantage. They believed that through fear and intimidation they could prevent them from reporting the offences to the authorities.”

As the legal proceedings concluded, the court scheduled sentencing for November 3, where the full extent of justice for the victims was expected to be served. The case has highlighted the importance of vigilance and proactive intervention by authorities and community members to protect vulnerable children from exploitation and abuse.
